Safety at Good Times Park: Secure, Supervised Indoor Play in Eagan & Woodbury

Safety is every parent’s top priority—and it’s ours too. At Good Times Park, we’ve built our indoor parks so families can focus on what matters: moving, playing, and spending time together. From secure entry to open layouts, our goal is simple: create a space where kids can explore freely and parents can feel confident every time they visit our Eagan or Woodbury locations.

Playground equipment in park

Designed for a safer kind of play

Indoor play is supposed to feel like a break—especially during long Minnesota winters or on those rainy days when the playground just isn’t an option. But “indoor” doesn’t automatically mean “safe.” That’s why we think safety has to be built into the experience from the start.

Good Times Park is designed with:

·       Secure entry to help keep the environment controlled

·       Clear sightlines so parents can easily keep eyes on their kids

·       Well-maintained equipment so play stays fun and reliable

When families walk in, we want the first feeling to be relief: This place is set up for us.

Clear sightlines that support parent supervision

We operate as a self-supervised indoor park. That means parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.

We know that can sound like a lot—especially if you have more than one child, or if your kids are at different ages and stages. That’s why our layout matters. Instead of tight corners and hidden areas, we focus on open spaces and visibility.

In practical terms, that means you can:

·       Stand in one spot and still see a lot of the play area

·       Move easily between zones without feeling crowded

·       Keep track of siblings without constantly losing sight of someone

It’s not about hovering. It’s about making it easier to supervise in a way that feels natural.

Remote monitoring as an added layer of awareness

Our self-supervised model also includes remote monitoring. So even when staff aren’t on-site, we’re still keeping an eye on the park.

Remote monitoring is not a replacement for parent supervision—but it is an extra layer of awareness that helps support a safer environment. It’s one more way we can stay connected to what’s happening in the space and respond appropriately if something looks off.

Age-appropriate areas that help kids play well together

One of the biggest safety factors in any play environment is making sure kids have space to play at their own pace.

A toddler who’s just learning to climb needs a different kind of environment than a confident 8-year-old who wants to run, jump, and test limits. That’s why we make it easy to find designated areas for different age groups, including a toddler play area.

This helps in a few ways:

·       Younger kids have a space that feels comfortable and manageable

·       Older kids can play big without accidentally overwhelming little ones

·       Parents can choose the right zone based on their child’s age and confidence

When kids are in the right environment, play tends to be smoother—and safer—for everyone.

Equipment care and maintenance you can count on

Kids play hard. That’s the point. But it also means equipment needs consistent attention.

We take pride in keeping our spaces clean, functional, and ready for families day after day. Well-maintained equipment isn’t just a “nice to have”—it’s part of building trust. Parents shouldn’t have to wonder if something is loose, worn out, or unsafe.

If you ever notice something that doesn’t look right, we want to know. Families are part of keeping the park great, and we appreciate when parents speak up.

What safety feels like for parents

For most parents, safety isn’t just about rules or signs on the wall. It’s about how the space feels when your kids start playing.

·       Can I see them?

·       Do I feel like the environment is controlled?

·       Does the space support good behavior and smooth play?

·       Can I relax even a little?

“Knowing my kids are safe lets me relax and enjoy our time together,” says one Twin Cities parent.

That’s the experience we aim for: kids having the freedom to explore, and parents having the confidence to breathe.

Safety is a shared responsibility

We do our part through design, maintenance, and monitoring. Parents do their part through active supervision.

A few simple habits go a long way:

·       Stay within a comfortable distance of your child(ren)

·       Review basic play expectations before jumping in

·       Help kids take turns and be aware of others

·       Choose areas that match your child’s age and comfort level

When everyone is on the same page, the park stays fun—and safer—for all families.
